I Can Assure You, This Is NOT What G Wanted For Her Birthday

Posted by: Confessions From A Work-At-Home Mom in , , ,

Today is G's second birthday. It's a post that should be wholly devoted to her, my amazing little girl, and how she's grown by leaps and bounds over the past year. Far more quickly than I would have permitted, had I been given the choice.

But instead, today's post isn't about her. It's about me-- well, us, really. Our family. And how we've grown.

I asked G a few weeks ago what she wanted for her second birthday. Here's a sampling of what made her very toddler-centric list:

-cake
-cake
-Dora
-cake

Not included on that list? Spending the morning of her second birthday in the doctor's office with mom and dad. No, don't worry, she's fine. Remember-- this post is about us not her?

Because we weren't in a pediatricians office...

We were in the OB's office...

Because we're pregnant, very unexpectedly, shockingly, surprisingly pregnant...

To Be Continued...

I just got all teary-like. Congratulations!!!! That was me yelling it to you from afar.

What a wonderful surprise! Many, many congratulations to you and your soon-to-be-little-big-bigger family!
What a happy birthday present for all of you!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

And Happy Birthday to G!

As I told you before... I'm so very happy for you & how everything worked out...

Just another reason that it is awesome you will be SAH...

YAY! Even though it's a surprise and wasn't expected or planned, YAY! Congratulations! (I hope you're excited, hence my excitement, but if you're not, I can understand that and say that it will all make sense soon. It must be meant to be. Etc.)

However, since you've posted it on the most public of forums, I'm guessing you're excited! :)

Congratulations! And a huge HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY wish to Georgia!

The cat is finally out of the bag! WOO HOO! :) Seriously, so happy for you guys. G will LOVE her little brother or sister ... or both? (wouldn't that be insane?) I think it's the BEST birthday present. Can't wait to hear how the appointment went. XOXO!

How exciting!! Congratulations!! Perfect timing now that you are staying home!

Congrats! How exciting, I bet G will love being a big sister, and Happy birthday to your little girl. Bet its an emotional day:)

No Way!!! Congratulations!!! Such exciting news. Happy Birthday to sweet G! I think it's a great birthday present...a new baby brother or sister to play with (eventually)!

O.M.G. Wanna borrow my blog title? ;)

But seriously, I know how that feels. Different family dynamic, but same pit in your stomach feeling. Email me if you need anything at all!

I know you said something on my blog about it, and on FB, but congrats again! :-)

Left quite a cliffhanger for your readers, though!

Hell Yeah, Cops know how to do it man!!!!!!!!!!! A little Blue Devil. See not all Cops shoot blanks. Oh sorry for the crudeness, but I had to be me for a minute. Yeah the DH COP.

Congrats to both of you.

Wow...that is amazing news! I remember finding out about my 3rd pregnancy. I was surprised. Surprised and horrified! However, eventually the horror wore off and we now have one of the best things that could have ever happened to us! Congrats! And happy 2nd birthday to your daughter!

Happy Birthday to G and congratulations to your family!!! How exciting!!!

Happy Birthday G!!! And congrats to you!

Congratulations again! During the rare times we're both in H-town our kiddos will be close enough in age to play together. :-)

Oh my... I am sure that is not what she thought she would be doing on her birthday, lol, or you for that matter. Congrats!!!! I am sure it was a shock to the system. But how very exciting.

wowzers! Congratulations!

Congrats! Some times the I cunplanned pregnancies are the best. My boys were 7 1/2 and 5 when we found out I was pregnant again. SSSOOO not planned. I cried for a month. The whole pregnancy I kept saying, "God's plan is different than mine." Thank goodness he's smarter than me! Jason was 8 and Andrew was 5 1/2 when Sarah was born. And she's the best "mistake" we've ever made. I thank God every day that he brought her into our lives. We were a happy family before she was born, but now we're complete. If she was a little older, she probably would have asked for a baby brother or sister for her birthday. This way, she's just getting it a little earlier than planned! ;-)
Congrats!

Happy Birthday G & Congratulations!

My mom is convinced that 3 years apart is the perfect timing, and you will be quite close. I have not decided on the spacing for my child/children, but I know that you cannot always control these things. Best Wishes!

Congratulations!!

This works out really well with your new staying at home choice, right? Yay?

My daughter has been asking for a little sister for about three years now, so you are just a little early with the present ;-)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! So excited for you!!

Wow!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!! And Happy Birthday G!
