After a week hiatus, my triple-scoop of Friday goodness is back!
First, though, I wanted to mention my awesome blogging friend Crystal, who is featuring me today at her blog, "Wanna Be Balanced Mom". Crystal blew me away this week when she asked to feature me. She said it was because I inspire her, but really, it's Crystal who inspires me. Like right now-- she's working to raise $100 for MS research on her blog using YOUR comments. So definitely go check her out and help her meet her goal! She's asked me to post about my "time management" skills... geez, you're about to find out what a faker I am!
Starting off my triple-dip with...

-I have to do a little bit of mommy bragging to start off... my daughter is not just a pee-er; she's an optimal pee-er! That's right, just shy of 18 months old, and G has started peeing in the potty. It's no where near every time (actually, it's more like twice-- not twice a day, twice overall), but still... it's an accomplishment! I never thought I'd be so happy to hear a little "tinkle, tinkle, tinkle" as I have been this week.
-On the heels of this week's post about the
-Speaking of that post on
Time for...
by "Foursons"!
Dear My Daughter's Godfather, Whom I Didn't Hear From For Three Months,
This is actually the second letter dedicated to you on this blog. The first was warm, touching, and heartfelt. This one is not.
When you didn't call at Christmas, I figured you were just busy spending time with your mother before she flew south for the winter (as all good Ohioans are apt to do). When I didn't hear from you the entire month of January, I figured you were just busy spending time with your new girlfriend, whom I adore.
But when you didn't call in February, I just figured you didn't care about
Yes, we have a complicated, tangled history, and people think it's beyond weird that I chose my high school sweetheart to be G's Godfather (and his mother to be G's Godmother). Yes, some may say my frustration at your lack of communication skills are based on jealousy. And yes, while they might be just a teeeeeensy bit correct, it was more that my feelings were hurt that you didn't care about your one and only GODDAUGHTER enough to call and say a simple hello.
No calls. No emails. No carepackages to say you cared. It's like you dropped off the face of the earth.
I appreciate your contrite apology when I finally broke down and called you last night (yes, yes I was playing a mind game with you to see when... or rather, if... you'd call first). I appreciate your promise that you'll come visit your Goddaughter sooner rather than later.
But I am holding fast to my promise that if I don't hear from you again before June, I'm going to find a replacement Godfather... maybe one who actually believes in God.
Your disgruntled, in-your-life-forever-and-ever-Amen Ex-girlfriend,
(who kinda sounds like a crazy stalker right about now),
Elizabeth
And finally, I'm taking advantage of the new "meme" listing over at Our Mommyhood to try a brand new blog hop today...
Maybe I was drawn to this blog carnival because it reminds me of my own monthly "Truthful Tuesday". Maybe I felt the need to head into the Confessional with Glamazon Mormon Mom because I've been lackadaisical about my own Catholic guilt (bless me Father, for I have sinned... I have no idea when my last confession was). But I was drawn to her blog this week like a So this week, I confess:
-that I broke out into song and dance during "Throwback Thursday" at work to Barry White's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Baby"
-that I actually do have a group of coworkers who sing and dance every Thursday to a different hit song from the 60s, 70s, or 80s as a means of therapy
-that I went to bed at 8:25pm on Wednesday night, and LOVED IT!
-that I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks
-that I'm starting to wonder why I pay $30/month for a gym membership that I don't use
-that I don't plan on shaving my legs this weekend... even though I have to take G to swim lessons in the morning
-that I have spent an exorbitant amount of time this week planning the "Eggcellent Adventure 2010"... an Easter egg hunt party... for one-year-olds...
If you're new to my blog, welcome! I hope you like what you see. Leave a comment and let me know you stopped by so I can repay the visit. And don't forget to enter my latest giveaway-- a custom-made party favor prize pack from "A Blissful Nest"! Today is the LAST DAY!

It's insanely ridiculous how happy we can get when they pee in the potty.
I would hate to see myself one day if my kids actually did something like win an Acadamy award or something.
I'd have a heart attack...
Tinkling in the potty?? Wow! Such a smart girl!
awesome!! My mom said I was potty trained at about 18 months! I couldn't even image that with JonJon! He's now 3 and FINALLY potty trained! :)
You must be so proud of your little pee-er! Charlie peed in the potty by accident once (he likes to sit on it before he gets in the tub) and it scared the heck out of him.
Your office sounds like fun!
You are SO lucky that she is doing that so early! That is awesome!!!
Congrats on the recognition and kiddo bathroom accomplishment. We have one a twin ( 3 years old) that is very good about the potty, while the other has shown no interest in it whatsoever.
Enjoy your weekend.
Bree did the same thing with the potty, and then just stopped. But now she's picked it up again. How frustrating is that?!
New to your blog...loved it!
congrats on the potty training...but just wait until you are visiting every restroom everywhere because that is something little ones do...i think i have visited every restroom everywhere!
Congrat's on the great start on potty training!
I will definetly go check out your friends site and leave comments!!
I haven't had a chance to read the whole blog yet, and really should get to work - so I can get out here... but...
I read:
by "Foursons"!
follwed after a section on "Eden's" and "Spark"...
Guess what I read in place of "son"?
Yep... Foursome... :)
As an idea for future blog...
What exactly is a Godparent supposed to do?
My BIL is getting better... I mean he calls DH. Spoils J for Christmas & Birthday. But I'm not sure it is anything extra special...
My SIL doesn't do anything extra special either. And with her caught up in her own life, I rarely get calls from her... I usually get updates from my brother on their kiddos...
So... Having not grown up with a Godparent (not being Catholic & all)... I have the question...
What should I expect from them? And what should I be doing for my niece?
This is not something they teach in RCIA.
Thanks! And I hope G's Godfather gets his act together soon!
Jealous! I long for the day when Spencer can pee in the potty... oh when will that day come?! Congratulations!
I'm sorry the Godfather isn't involved. that sucks.
LOL at not shaving your legs this weekend and allowing your parents to buy your groceries. Sounds like a great weekend to me!
Sounds like you have lots to celebrate! Have a good weekend!
Easter and 1 year olds are the BEST!! It is so funny - they can't find anything!
I wrote about you on my blog today!
Also someone did FGF from your Meme List on Our Mommyhood! Thank You!
Woohoo for pee in the potty!! haha!!
Ohhh enjoy whatever you choose from Eden Fantasy! I did a review for them awhile ago. Fun times. ;0)
Hope the kidlets Godfather steps up soon!!
Happy Friday!!
what an action packed post...i'm sure i'll miss some of the things i intended to comment on....
credit card rewards--we just had a conversation at work the other day that if you had time...you could really make those things work hard for you
i currently use the cash back option and charge everything i can then pay it off at the end of the month like a bill--last year i earned almost $400 in cash back --that's FREE money :)
i also found that i can order gift cards with my cash back for sometimes up to double the amount--more free money!
the potty
WOOHOO!
we also got our first poopie this past week--that's my socially inappropriate post coming up
slow and easy wins the race in potty land :)
your godfather situation is a bit of a tangled web, very soap-ish :)
though i am not even catholic--i forgive you sins in the confessional section :)
I remember those potty training times....every little "tinkle" was a huge deal!! Congrats!
Happy Friday!
How about...I still pay for a gym that I haven't been to since before the dude was born. Ummmm, yeah. He's 20 mos. old. ah ha ha. Happy Friday!
You definitely did a quint dip blog right there...that is awesome!
I find girls to be so awesomely easy when it comes to potty training. My daughter had a thing about the not so fresh feeling in the diaper and loved the cheers that she got from peeing on the potty.
Super congrats on your fab award, that is so cool! When I saw you on Crystals blog I was like hey I know her.
I have a big huge issue with my kids Godparents too, well at least one set they are MIA and have been for a long time I think its time for a replacement.
~Jen~
Yay for your little pee-er! I am impressed at 18 months for her to do it. My kids...trained at 3 and 3-1/2...not sure what happened there but they were definately late bloomers. Sorry to hear about the stinky Godfather! Have a great Friday...chat soon.
at 18 months? that is awesome. MiniMac was trained for the day at about 2 yrs 2 months and then decided he didnt want to do it anymore. At ALL. So we took a four or five month break. 18 months is super!!!! I dont miss pullups one bit. lol.
And I love your Easter enthusiasm. I am planning our egg hunt too!
congrats on the potty peeing! woo-hoo!
I wrote about sex yesterday, too, and linked to you. ;)
Have fun with your giveaway!
Isn't that the best when they start going on the potty!!! My 21 month old has starting going too!
peeing is awesome... for the kids, i mean. yay! have a great weekend!
What was his excuse for not calling or contacting you though?
Potty training already?!? That's awesome! I'm pretty sure Lucas (19 months) isn't going to be ready for A LONG TIME. No interest...
YAY! Pee in the potty! Wow!
That was a day to celebrate, the day my daughter was potty trained. Not looking forward to doing it all over again with my son.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I added to your post. When I first read your email for the feature, I knew what I wanted to add, but then forgot about it until now. So just wanted to let you know :)
I can't wait for my 2nd to be out of diapers...he will sit on the potty but does nothing...
My kids still don't have God parents...it's such a hard decision...
Wow. I don't know if I can handle this. It took me 3 years to get my first potty trained -- FOUR before she was going #2 consistently. Now my second daughter is 3 and we're still working on her. WHAT IS YOUR SECRET?!? *sob*
Yay! Pee in the potty! That's amazing. My 18 month old puts his hands in the potty, does that count?
What a great post of dipping. Thanks for stopping by the Round Robin. I hope you liked it.. Have a great weekend.
Oh my, that tinkle tinkle sound can make your whole day! My 2.5 year old is on the verge of getting potty trained. We tried it about 6 months ago and it was a disaster. So now we're trying to prep her a little by easing her fear of actually going on the potty. Great post today!
So does the Godfather read your blog? If so you must post an update on his behavior!
Yea for using the potty twice! You gotta start somewhere.
And I love the Friday confessional- great Meme!
Ali's comment cracked me up. Foursome. Bawahahaha. Love it!
Thanks for linking up again! I hope the Godfather gets his act in gear.
I like the whole confession thing ... and I "allow" my mom to buy me groceries whenever she's out here too:-)
woo hoo for tinkling in the potty!!!
Sorry about the godfather.. I havent seen my goddaughter in a loooong time but it isnt my fault (her mom and I are no longer friends so I guess I dont have that title anymore!)
I pay 50$ a month for my hubby and I to use the gym... last time we went... Ummmm?? *Crickets* haha
I didn't think I could possibly love you more, but... that letter did it.
You and I are clearly soul sisters.
Potty Training is such a huge milestone and liberator! However, like one of your commentor's said, now you will get to visit every bathroom wherever you go, not so much because they have to go but because they suddenly want to see EVERY bathroom EVERYWHERE.
Have a wonderful weekend with your parents! It's wonderful to have parents who come and help out, making things a little nicer.
Okay so so much to say~ so little time!
Awesome job about the potty! My little Leila (last of 5) started using the potty on her own at 15 months, and hasn't worn a diaper since! I was lucky! True about visiting every bathroom in site too~ Kinda sucks..
I love when my parents are in town and go shopping for me! LOVE!
If hate shaving my legs, because the hair grows back the min I step outta the shower!
Most of my kids don't see or hear from their god parents after the first 2 years of life! Hate that! I guess that's just life...
Happy Sat. Enjoy your parents!
Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna shave until summer. And yes, I do go to water aerobics every week. Maybe I should reconsider. At least on the bikini line :)
Yay! Free groceries!
Thanks for playing!
