Did I ever tell ya'll G's first word? I mean, after "Da" (dad), "Dog", and "Coo" ("Cookie", the nickname my mother made up instead of grandma)?
It was pretty darn cute at first. But over the months, her obsession with these quacking little creatures has veered toward the dangerous. In fact, just a few weeks ago during a trip to the lake, it led her to run as fast as her two pudgy little legs would carry her down to the water's edge where a group of ducks were swimming. Poor G-- she was furious with her daddy (haha, I made him play "bad cop" for once!) when he picked her up and moved her away from the shore!
So G was especially thrilled when this little guy ended up at our doorstep earlier this month. "Quackers" (her name for the toy, not the company's) is a product of the folks at ImagiPlay. In addition to being as cute as a Now, you can bring one of these little guys home to share with your kids (but please, give it a more original name than "Quackers", will ya?).

What a cute obsession for G to have! Good thing your legs are longer and were able to keep her out of the lake!
Since I don't have any little ones, do not enter me in the giveaway.
Have a great day!
I'd love to be entered... I'm a follower!
Caris' first word was "apple". No joke. We were amazed.
I follow your blog!
Baby boy still hasn't said his first word yet seeing as how he's only 5 months old!
I follow you & have been for months now :)
Bree's first word was "Dada" as most kids are, but she too is pretty good at saying "duck". She even follows the word "Duck" with a horrible squawking sound, imitating what ducks sound like :)
She would love this toy, and she shares a fascination with ducks too....
I personally am afraid of ducks...lol
Not trying b/c J has an elephant already...
But... That is adorable... And I LOVE you made DH play bad cop for once... I hate always being the bad guy...
And really cute toy! And - J & I often play - Duck, Duck... Goose in the tub... He thinks it is hilarious...
I love their toys! I'm a follower!
Oh, and Charlie's first word was "uh-oh." He used it in the correct context, when he dropped a blueberry on the floor, so I know it wasn't just baby babbling ;)
old follower
This is so cute! My girls would love it. I am a follower.
Kate's first non-family word was frog. only she said it with a ck sound at the end and she's always had troubles with her R's....
I don't know what Emma's was, but I do know that for 6 months between her learning our names and when she decided to talk you could say a sentence to her and she'd babble it back to you in her nonsense but with the exact same inflections you put into the sentence. It was awesome.
And Lily? Well, she's 3 months on Saturday. She says, "goo" and it doesn't mean much :-)
Cute ducky no need to enter us as buggy is 7 and I don't see that being his dish ...just stopping by as always to say hello and happy wednesday
I like Quackers!! It's a cute name! I will forever think of G now! :P
Jonathan's first word after the normal mama and dada was cat. he'd say caaaaat.
I am already a follower. What a cute duckie!
Kyle's first word was not Dada or Mama, nope my crazy kids first work was "Daq"...yep, Daq...what is that you ask????
The dogs name! Yep, my son's first word was calling for the family dog (who's full name was Daiquiri, like the drink) but we always called her Daq for short.
....hmmmffff....if that isn't a huge slap in the face for a parent!
ah, i love eco safe toys
the duck is adorable!
my girls first words were
"uh-oh"
"bye-bye"
and
"dink(drink)"
they are always later on the momma/dadda thing (at least saying it purposefully)
ducks are a cute obsession :)
my kids constantly pretend to be dogs...crawling around, barking/whining, throwing food on the floor to eat it
I follow your blog and have for a while now :)
Since Ava is only three months old, she's confined to oohs, ahhs and heh, but I'm coaching her pretty hardcore towards mommy as her first word :)
Ella B. would love this! I'm already a follower by the way. In case that's news. ;)
Ella's only word right now is "Mama" which vexes my husband to no end which is part of the reason I love hearing her say it so much. I don't know why he thinks his name gets to be said first. Anyway. Josh's first word was "Lucy" which was our dog's name and he thought for a few months that every single animal in the world was called a Lucy. Other than that (because I guess that's technically "doggy") he said "hot" a lot.
Little Dude looked at me just before he was 10 months old, "Your are Ducky!" He spoke (and hasn't shut up since)! Ahhhhh!!! Wait did he just call me by my nickname as a baby? The only person who called me that had passed away years before I even met The weatherman. Hmmm. Special times 10! So Ducks are special in our house. Love the duckie! Her obsessions will change fast and will seem constantly.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes I did name my daughter from the Character from Where the Heart is.
Fun!! I follow via GFC.
Super cute!! I am already a follower! :)
Emma's first word (other than the usual) was ball. Still to this day the girl loves a ball.. in fact we have to come home with a different one every time we go into target! (I should prob put a stop to that but.. its kind of cute ;)
She does love a duck tho and would prob call it "quack" not even as origianl as "quackers" lol she calls every duck "quack"
Hope its my turn to win ;)
I don't have a baby yet, so I can't do the second one, but I hope whatever little Adam says first, that it's a good one! :)
We have some duck groupies here as well. The gang enjoys making them fat with all of our feeding trips.
My daughter has one of the toys and it is an alligator--too fun.
Cute toy - I am already a follower!
Lucas' first word was milk, although it sounded more like mil...
Duck was one of her first words...that is adorable! And its also so adorable that your Mom has a nickname for Grandma!
Way cute! Already a follower!
My youngest son said "Mi Mi" for mama milk! So cute, I miss those days!
I follow! You know that.
Cute post. And cute duck.
The Cute's first word (aside from Mama) was good. It's actually good x 3. Everything is 'good good good'. Now she tells everyone what a 'Good Guh' she is.
I'm following you in a non obsessive way via subscription.
Even though I lurk.. :\
My 4YO daughter's first word that wasn't dada was "Issac". This kid in her daycare that she would hold hands with when she WASN'T EVEN ONE YET!!!
My daughter's first word was baba. She used to say baba to me when I waved bye.
The duck is soo cute! No need to enter me in the giveaway, I don't think Little E in all his boyness at 2 1/2 would play with it.
Happy Wednesday!
I'm a new follower, Lexy would love for you to enter us in your giveaway. Her first non-mama word was puppy.
i'm an "old" follower.
Love the toy! No need to enter me... Although... Go ahead and enter me... If I win it, I can be mine! :)
I'm already a follower. :)
Brad's first word besides mama or dada was "Go, go, go." He loves the book "Go Dog. Go!" So when he would bring the book to us he started saying "go, go, go." It wasn't as clear but you could definitely tell he was saying that. :)
My daughters first word was "shoes" although it did and still does sound more like "sh's". Her next word was "ocks" for socks. This girl loves her shoes and socks.
I think I might have a problem.
Oh, and I am a new follower (as of a few days ago....love your blog!). :)
Boy's first words were ball, mama, then Gus for our dog. Book came after that.
Two weeks ago after I had already stopped him 4 times, he ran straight into a pond near our house in pursuit of a duck (I was close, but he got crafty after the second stop). I've never seen him more surprised and indignant than when I pulled his wet little self out of the water.
I think we might be well on our way to our first heart attacks with kids this age...
I follow.
My oldest two both said "ball" as their first word, other than mama and dada.
I think the baby's first word was "Ow."
Cute duck! Cate's first non mommy/daddy word was book. Hmmmmm....maybe because momma's an English teacher?
And you will be amazed at how much G grows mentally between now and age 2. Cate amazes us everyday. They absorb so much.
AFter momma, dada, nana and grandad, it was CHOCOLATE. Yep! She's mine!
im a follower, AND queen for the week! just throwing it out there!!
i cant answer that question because i dont have kids YET. however...i would love to come up with a new name for Quackers (i almost typed Duckers?). I'd give him to my nephew, and tell him not to say anything that rhymes with duck...lol!
I hope I did the following thing right!
My daughter (Elizabeth!) also loves ducks. I highly recommend the "This is my duck" by Usbourne for duck lovers.
Elizabeth presses the button to make the duck quack and gets so excited about it...
We have a Cackling Hen that's similar to the Quackers duck and she loves that too. I'm sure that our hen is lonely and needs a friend...
I pimped you out over on my blog!! and I am already for top 3 thursday too =)
Great site!
And thank you again for your kind comments on my SITS DAY!
Betty

M hasn't started talking for real yet. But he does say babababbabbaba every time we get a bottle ready, so does that count??
I love that duck, and would love to win one! My little one is obsessed with ducks, too. He can't take a bath without his "ducky friend".
I'm a follower! :)
My little bug's first word (other than the normal ones) was "cheese"; his absolute favorite food :)
