Top 3 Thursday!

Posted by: Confessions From A Work-At-Home Mom

It's new...
It's exciting...
It's a brand new Meme!

And thanks to Heather,
I finally know what a "meme" is!

Maybe you'd already guessed on Tuesday, when I took Truthful Tuesdays from a weekly to a monthly feature, that I had something up my sleeve.

Well, I do...
Actually, we do.

The (Un)Experienced Mom & I are proud to introduce...

<center><a href="http://confessionsfromaworkingmom.com/" title="Top 3 Thursday"><img src="http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn287/lifeafterbc/Elizabeth/Top3Thursday.jpg"/></a></center>

This blog carnival is truly as easy as it sounds...

Each week, The (Un)Experienced Mom and I will pick a category, then ask you to share your Top 3 thoughts on it. We hope you'll play along with us!

Our inaugural topic is...
What are your Top 3 Valentine's memories?
(Could be dates, movies, restaurants, gifts...)

My answers are (drumroll, please):

#3) The second Valentine's Day I was dating DH. He was only DBF at the time, and we were in our 14th straight month of a long distance relationship. He came all the way down South to attend my sorority Valentine's semi-formal. During the dance, he asked the DJ to play the song that would ultimately become our "first dance" at our wedding 15 months later.

#2) My sophomore year of high school... and this answer has absolutely no romance to it. Valentine's Day that year just happened to coincide with the high school swimming district championship meet; and on that date, three of my teammates and I won the 200 yard freestyle relay in a school record time (a record that still stands today, 12 years later). The joy of that victory has almost helped me to forget that my first-ever boyfriend dumped me the very next day.

And my top Valentine's Day moment...

#1) 2008, hands down. That's the day that DH & I told his parents and my extended family that we were expecting our beautiful daughter. After my first miscarriage, we chose to keep my pregnancy a secret until I hit 10 weeks, which I did on Valentine's Day. Fast forward two years until now-- G will be exactly 17 months old on Sunday.

What are your Top 3 Valentine's memories?

What fun stories! What a great idea. I think I will add mine before tonight :)

Great memories, especially your #1! :)

Oops, it is #1 - the baby one

I love your #1 memory... The only memory more priceless is the one that gets a day older & creates so many more memories with each of those passing days...

I'm a Valentines Day scrooge. Nothing particularly worth remembering has ever happened to me on that date.

Well, here's one...Valentines Day 5 years ago is the last time I saw my Papa alive. Now how depressing is that? :)

Those are some good memories well, except for getting dumped :-(

I rarely had a boyfriend for V-Day, but my favorite memory is when my dad bought candy and flowers for my mom and I. I was 22 and boyfriendless and it made my day!

What great stories!

I have never been a big V-Day person, but my favorite Valentine's Day memory is the first V-Day I had with Leland. We were both living with our parents so I bought my parents dinner so Leland and I could have the house to ourselves and I made dinner for him. I put a red tablecloth on the table and decorated it with hearts and candles. I don't remember everything I made for dinner except for the french onion soup. Leland loves french onion soup so I decided to make it for the first time that night. IT WAS GROSS, but Leland ate it anyway to make me happy.

After dinner we decided it would be a good idea to have sex in the kitchen. We were on the table, on the counter, on the stove, and then eventually moved into my bedroom. Next thing I know, we hear the parents come home and then immediately realize that we left condom wrappers ALL OVER the kitchen.

We got dressed in a mad rush and somehow were able to make it into the kitchen to clean up the mess before my parents saw it. Or maybe they did see it but didn't say anything. I really don't know.

I wrote one but I can't get McKLinky to work. The "you are next" will not highlight and let me click to add. :(

you are lucky girl!! you have had some great Valentine's days...
I would LOVE to do this but alas I have no {good} memories...perhaps this one will be the start of something good ::)

Those all sound like great Valentines Days!!! I love a good long distance relationship story, that is awesome!
Babies grow up to darn fast, love your third story ;)

I don't really have any great Valentine memories, how sad am I! I think its because my hubby and I are just romantic everyday..haha NOT!

Special memories! One of these days I'm going to join one of these -- are you doing this every week? I like it!

This is so fun! can't wait to see what else you guys come up with!

I love the (Un)Experienced Mom! She is just great!

Sounds like a fun meme =)
I will not be participating since I don't really have any Valentine's Day memories to share but I look forward to seeing what you guys will pull out of your hat next week!

Cool new meme!

I'm way late getting around to my blog reading today, so maybe I'll play next week instead.

Honestly I really only have one that stands out for me. It was one with an ex boyfriend who just went all out in planning a great night. Very thoughtful, and the most anyone has ever done...including my husband. He never does anything for Valentine's day.

Great Valentine's memories, especially the baby:)

Fun meme, do you post the subject of the week Thurs am?

Love this idea, hopefully I can join in next week!

#3 is awesome =)

Great memories! I like this meme. So much fun!

What a fun idea! I'll have to do that one of these weeks. Already did a post today :) I try to do at least 3 a week. Anyway, I just came across your blog somehow :) So fun!
I'm a new follower.

Uhhhh yeah, #1 happened to me before our three kids. I liked your stories, very nice!

I see you are from Cleveland! MEEE TOOO, lol. Well, right outside. Are you still there? Or is that your hometown like you moved somewhere? lol

I'm from Cleveland too! No longer there, moved away for my husbands job. But that is where I grew up. Lakewood to be specific...

I'm doing the meme on my blog too! Thanks for sharing!

Those are great memories. I'll have to think on this one. :)

Great memories....Love your blog.....Always glad I stopped by.....Hope you will visit me...

Fun stories! I don't have a favorite Valentine's day memory... but I'll think of it as "it can only get better!"

I love your blog! Thanks for stopping by mine today! You have some great V-day moments. Mine aren't so memorable. I was mostly ticked off every year because my DH couldn't get off work in time for dinner reservations about 6 years in a row. Then we had kids which made things even worse. Except now its probably good because neither one of us has any expectations, lol!

Aww, I love your VDay memories!! It's so sweet with the new ones, and it's nice and sweet remembering those with just our sweeties! Thanks for hosting, love this idea!

Those are some great memories! I dont think I have any strong memories of Vday. Which is better than bad memories I guess. =)
