Today, I'm guest posting over at Kerri's Klutter... but here on my blog, it's time for:

This blog carnival is truly as easy as it sounds...
Each week, The (Un)Experienced Mom and I will pick a category, then ask you to share your Top 3 thoughts on it. We hope you'll play along with us!
This week, we want to know...
I have to say, when I started blogging last summer, I was doing it merely as an outlet for all the crazy thoughts in my head. Since then, my reasons have changed...
#3) I am an HTML junkie. I love figuring out how to reformat my text, my page, my buttons. I will never be truly "tech-savvy", but blogging lets me at least think I am.
#2) It's a great way to keep in touch with my friends, particularly those who live out of state. A few of my friends from high school, even college, now read my blog; because of this, they know what's going on in my day to day life and what I'm thinking about. Between them reading my blogs and me reading theirs, it keeps me in contact with people with whom I might otherwise lose touch.
And my top reason for blogging is...
#1) You. The lovely ladies at SITS have been talking a lot about "finding your tribe" recently, and I feel like I have found a real sense of community in YOU. There are so many of you who stop by on a daily basis, either just to look or to leave a comment (or hopefully, play along in a blog carnival!); I'm making it my mission to return the favor for each and every visit! I love the banter so many of us have struck up, and hope it's a bloggy-friendship that can continue.
Note: Only link up if you participated in this blog carnival on your own blog!

Great topic! Your #3 and mine are the same!
fantastic!
1. I started blogging a year ago as I started IVF treatment. I needed a way to journal my experience and avoid having to discuss it over and over with people.
2. I love being creative and discussing interesting topics. I don;t get out for girl chat much so this is my way of bringing it to me!
3. I love meeting other bloggers...I am online all day so it;s nice to have a blogging family out there!
I blog there for I am...
1. Less of a bitch to my husband (he is super thankful)
2. loving having my thoughts out there in bloggy world. The comments I received to my post yesterday completely humbled me. People feel so much freer to share.
3. making friends. I was nervous to begin the blog thing but just the simple fact of meeting some awesome people AND finding their blog and their thoughts...is absolutely wonderful.
(I think your link to me is broken unless you wanted it to be broken then never mind.) ;o)
1.I started my blog last year when I was in my first trimester as a way to share my pregnancy experience with my family, all of which live several states away. It soon became a cathartic way to deal with how much I hated being pregnant.
2.Being with a small child all day doesn't exactly make one feel like they're exercising their mind and writing abilities, so after I finished my novel I needed a writing outlet of sorts.
3. I found a group of women all at or very close to the same stage of pregnancy I was in (and now with similarly-aged babies!) who have become wonderful blog friends!
3) I like to hear myself talk.
2) My mom scrapped book my life, and I don't know if I'll ever be that good... So I figure with this AND keeping J's school papers, pictures, extra, he'll at least be able to see what he was like when he was younger... Something I hope he will pass on to his children when the time is right... I've even thought about looking into the book creation option to "publish" this to put into the box.
1) My side of the family all reside out of state. This is a great way to keep in the loop on J's new happenings, in case I forget to tell them... And a great place to provide pictures without overwhelming their computer.
You love HTML? I am a HTML wannabe. I dabble in it a little bit but don't understand much of it. I search for tutorials without much luck. How do you learn it? What are some tips I could use?
Love your list...
Here's mine
1. Started the blog to keep everyone updated on the many things going on with Jack.
2. Got great feedback and just enjoyed the heck out of talking about the kid
3. With less going on medically I'm getting to blog about everyday life and really enjoying the sense of community that I'm experiencing
How about - blogging is more fun than housework :-)
And yes the new friends and comraderie is so cool! I'm new to blogging this month but loving it already! And I love that I will always be able to look back and see what I did and what I thought about as somewhat of a journal of my thoughts.
Fabulous answers! I love HTML too! I am amazed that just a code can make something awesome..haha!
Man, I'm coming to you with my HTML problems then, because so far, I think it's written in Swahili. Also, I don't know how to spell Swahili.
You *love* HTML? Are you feeling alright?? Although, I must admit that I have felt incredibly victorious when I have created a button by myself. I may have danced. Don't tell!
1) as a creative outlet
2) to meet people that I would never come across with in my everyday life
3) to vent on occasion
I started blogging because Leland and I were planning on moving from Chicago to Austin, TX and I wanted to have a way to document the move and our adjustment to a new life in a new city. Well, we were never able to make the move due to the crap economy, and I have kept my blog because I love the friendships I have made and I love making people laugh. I love the community and seriously don't think I could live without all of the wonderful people I have "met."
Including you! You already know how much you rock my world, but I thought I would say it again!
See now my bubble has been popped. All this time I have been reading your blog and I thought you were blogging for DH.
I love this topic!! It's amazing the support you get in this community. I have found great friendships, inspirations, and opportunities through blogging, and I'm thankful for each one!
Happy Thursday!
Great list. And a great question!
#1 - I'm waaaaay funnier when I write then when I speak. When I speak, it comes out all wrong. When I write, I can reread it and crack myself up.
#2 - I had postpartum depression. My blog was my therapist.
#3 - My followers. I'm slowly building my "tribe" and it makes me smile when I get returning visitors.
I won't do this on my blog because mine is kid oriented (I've been thinking about having a personal one too but haven't made the plunge yet)...so I will answer here:
3 - To look with the kids and let them see how they were in years (or months) past.
2 - To keep long distance friends and family up to date on what we are up to.
1 - To have a detailed record of my kids growing up and be able to go back and watch videos and see what we did each year, what accomplishments that had, what they sound and look like.
I just loe your blog to pieces =) Thanks for sharing and thanks for coming by ... I am looking forward to Truthful Tuesday's big return ;)
1. to share my shop with the world.
2. to keep my family & friends updated.
3. all of the new bloggy friends I have made.
1. so i could follow other blogs
2. i'm lazy and it's an easier way to share pictures and news with all my friends and family
3. good way to document my family's life for my kids to look back on...and me too
Ok, so I do love reading your blog, even if you REFUSE to watch LOST! ;)
I also don't have time to do this on my blog right now as I am still trying to recover from my virus! ;(

#3 I love that I am learning as I go along...the HTML stuff is scary, but it is so worth the trial and error. I am also learning to write better and revisit the writing skills us accountants tend to forget!
#2 The sense of community! I have 'met' some awesome peeps!
#3 I get to express myself and share my life (and our family) in a creative way!
You know, I would participate in this meme, but I schedule my posts in advance. Maybe next week, could I get a head's up on the topic?!
Pweese?
My Top 3:
1. I Love to write.
2. TOTALLY, the community of friends I have built. It is amazing.
3. The comments, but not just receiving them, I love giving them too. It kills me if I can't get to a new friend's blog post the same day it was written.
great topic. I love reading why others choose to blog. and yes the blogging community is great!
Making friends is probably my #1 reason. :)
Great Blog Hop - thanks for doing this - I'm joining along!

My bloggy friends are high up there on the reasons why I blog!!
You're such a great blog friend :) I'm glad we met. I've participated in your top 3 thursday today. So fun!
I'll go check out your guest post now!
I love your three! Mine would be very similar. I love my tribe that I have...(you are in my tribe)! :)
I started blogging MY SIDE in a positive heartfelt way to offset the negative backlash from the then boyfriends ex-wife. She left him. She found another guy the last year of their marriage. She refused to go to any more counseling when they told her things SHE needed to do to make the marriage work.
THEN she attacks HIM on her blog after she kicked him out of their house. Add ME to her hate when I came along five months later.
Apparently I wasn't supposed to like her children or hug them or play with them. Hmmmm.
:-)
Anyways! So glad I did. I love BLOGGING. And yes, I still read her blog.
I blog because it keeps my sanity - it's like I am conversing when baby talk is too much at home and I LOVE to write!
I"m so jealous! I want to improve my html!! I love working with it as well...so far, I suck!
Love these Top 3 Posts! I did my first one today, a little late =)
Lily
I love the "finding your tribe" mentality, because that's really what this all is - the best stinking way to find a community of people who are supporting and rallying... there. I love it!
I love blogging. It is So addicting!! At first I thought I could just post once or twice a week. But now its like I want to post everyday! I just dont always have time to.
I feel like an HTML genius because of blogging! Hahaha
And the friendships- they're unbelievable.
I started blogging as an assignment for a class (to use a Web 2.0 tool). I have always loved to write; it's my outlet. I definitely share your #1 reason; people who don't blog or read blogs don't understand it, but I think the community found in blogging is fantastic. It led me to you, right?! :)
