Talk about a miserable way to celebrate your birthday...

Hear how a three-year-old boy was left behind-- forgotten-- at his OWN BIRTHDAY PARTY.

There's A First Time For Everything

Because The (Un)Experienced Mom is at Blissdom today and not doing "Fill In The Blank Friday"...

And because I completely dropped the ball on my Friday Fragments...

I am doing...

THREE NEW BLOG CARNIVALS

...this week.

That's right... Three new meme's (and still no one has told me what "meme" means; c'mon ladies, help a girl out!) to enjoy!

I'm gonna start with The Girl Next Door Grows Up's

One of her ways to "feel good" is to write about five things that made you happy this week. I've had a tough week-- so this is my effort to find the silver lining.

#1) G got a new toy to help her sleep. I was skeptical about it at first, because I actually thought it would be a distraction. Instead, it's proven to be an absolutely winner!

#2) DH made one of my favorite meals for dinner... "Grown-Up Mac & Cheese". It's delicious! I've been able to eat it for leftovers a few days too, and it is the perfect comfort food.

#3) We finally made reservations for Valentine's Day (and got a sitter, woo hoo!). And even though we waited until 10 days before V-day (despite my "Tip Of The Day" from JANUARY!) to call our favorite restaurant, we still got in at a decent hour. No eating at Hardee's at 10pm for us this year!

#4) Snowstorm-pending (yes, we are expecting ANOTHER storm this weekend in the South), G and all her friends (and their moms, who happen to be my friends) start a session of swim lessons on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to spending time with my girls!

#5) Have you heard about the Super Bowl??? I heard the Colts are playing... And that makes me very happy. Ask me how I feel about this after the game on Sunday, though!

Now, on to my next new meme...

Letters of Intent
by "Foursons"!

Like I said before, it's been a tough week, and I've had a lot of fodder for this letter. But after much debate, I've decided to write it to...

Dear Mr. Middle-Aged Asian Man In Your Tricked Out Ford Focus...

I understand your passion for American-made automobiles. My grandfather once worked at Saturn (which is now defunct, but I digress), and although I drive foreign-made vehicles, I appreciate the impact your purchase has made on the U.S. economy during the recession.

That said, I must admit that I find your decision to "pimp out" your Focus rather... odd. I'm used to seeing tricked out Corrolas, Civics, and the occasional Subaru, but rarely something as gas-mileage friendly as your ride. I wonder, what was the inspiration for the back window decal which proclaims you "The King"? Was it your idea to put 20-inch rims on tires that are only 21-inches big? And just who came up with the jaw-dropping phrase for your vanity plate, "Ciao Y'll"?

I don't mean to critique your style or your choices. In fact, I wouldn't have even noticed them in the first place... If you hadn't cut me off on an ice-covered street only to drive at a snail's pace, completely frustrating this tried-and-true, Midwest-bred, Upstate-New-York-educated driver.

Thanks Again...
Elizabeth

With another snow storm on its way in tonight,
I don't think I'll be taking my little "ice princess" out in the snow tomorrow!

LOL Poor G!! LOL I can't help but laugh at her last picture! :)

Oh, I so have to admit that I have the same expression on my face when I touch the cold snow...I love to, and I mean LOVE to, drive in it and look at the white snow covered ground, but alas, I HATE actually touching it...haha!

Oh, and that is too funny about the Ford Focus Driver...

Ciao Ya'll

ooh! what's in grown-up mac and cheese? there's this restaurant in jersey that makes it with tomatoes and mushrooms and bacon and it's delish. I should try to replicate that :)

Now, I am wodnering...What is grown-up mac and cheese???? Sounds like a swim party on Saturday :)

Hilarious letter. I love grown up mac n cheese!

Now my mouth is watering for mac and cheese. I will probably be thinking about it all day, which makes three days in a row I am thinking about mac and cheese.

I don't think that we are doing anything for Valentine's Day. Glad you managed to get a good reservation!

Love the snow baby pics!

THANK YOU for participating in FGF!!!

A great list, but it didn't make me feel good ;-) We haven't planned what to do for Valentine's Day yet - oops!! Better get cracking!

Again, thank you!

These look fun and I could hardly stop laughing at the guy in the focus..

That Focus guy must be pretty cool...
LOVE that last pic! I hate it when my bare hands hit snow too!

here you go...

a meme is an idea that is passed from one person to another usually by imitation : )

Love the snow baby picture!

Have a great weekend-go Colts (we're Peyton fans)

yum grown up mac n cheese! haha!

The snow pictures are so funny...2 of my kids have yet to see real snow!

What is this sleep toy? I need it. Neeeeeed iiiiiiiitttt.

I want to know what grown up mac 'n cheese is too! Does that mean there's alcohol involved somehow? Because I'm Baptist, you know! ;-)

YAY for the Valentine's date!!

I love Valentines-glad you got your reservations made!

Love baby G. in the snow pictures!

And I just had to do a Lettr of Intent too (I put a link back to your blog on it too :) )

Have a great Friday!

Comfort food and snow go hand in hand. I told the hubby to make sure that the coffee and wine situation is under control before the storm hits...not to mention the brownie situation.

I cannot believe the difference in those photos! She has grown so much. I must know what her bedtime toy is? I recently got my son a baby glow worm and it too has been a hit!

Wow. I just keep finding meme after meme that i watn to be involved in! Ihave so many letters I wish I could write to random people I don't know. LOL! Found you through girl next door. Now following.

Love the pics of G! It's been so long since I've seen her!

That's so funny that G in the snow last year, resembles Bree's first snow. They can't walk yet, so you just stuff them in a snow suit and lay them on the ground. Haha...

Our big snow storm that we were supposed to get this weekend turned into rain, so I'm grateful for that. I don't much like Winter.

Your letter is HILARIOUS!

I'm a little jealous of the snow. We got "iced" in last weekend and rain yesterday. It either needs to SNOW or WARM UP!

Where abouts in Ohio were you from? I'm in Cincinnati and we too are planning for the white death soon to be upon us. Right now it's raining though and I'd rather have a blizzard.

Let me know when you figure out what "meme" actually is. We need to come up with some new lingo so others will be confused like us!

Thanks for the friday writing ideas too.

Back for a visit...probably tomorrow!

That's really funny. This morning on my way to work I got stuck behind a dropped Ford Escort with racing stripes. Who are these people?!

Thanks for leaving a comment earlier on my blog. I've been reading yours for a while so I thought I'd send you an invite to read mine :)

3 memes in one day! Are you insane?!

ok.

1- That's great that you and your hubby are going out and got a sitter. We never do anything for Valentine's day. My husband says that we should celebrate our love everyday instead of just on Valentine's day. That hasn't worked out very well. We never celebrate our love. I want Valentine's day back!

2- Your letter of intent is hilarious. I don't like stereotypes, but come one... You know what I'm thinking :P

3- Can you believe how fast the grow? We have similar pics of our daughter She is now 18 months old.

www.thewannabewahm.com

I love the first picture! I have a similar one of my son all dressed up in his first snow suit. He can't even move...he looks so stiff and has a look on his face like, get this off of me now!!!!

Mac and Cheese speaks for itself...yum!
Stay warm and safe and have a great weekend!

That last picture is priceless! That's exactly how I feel about snow.

Thanks for your comment about my girls' names! I, obviously, love them too. They're old. They're not named after anyone- I just like them. And Scarlet's full name is Scarlet Serafina Estelle. I gave her two because I couldn't part with either of them!

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited you joined up with my Letters of Intent today!!!

I wish you could have gotten a picture of that car, I would love to see it. And isn't it always the way to have someone cut you off and then drive at a snail's pace. I think we outta be allowed to play bumper cars with drivers like that. Seriously- I drive an old beat up van. A few more dings would hardly be noticable.

Again, thanks for linking up- I hope this weekend puts you as the lead driver with all the jerks far behind you.

Stopping by from Four Sons. Your letter cracked me up! One of those stupidly tricked out Honda Civics passed us once and my daughter was probably no more than 8 or 9 at the time said with all seriousness, "Nice car Batman"...it was all I could do to keep the car on the road I was laughing so hard. Hope you don't get too much snow tonight!

I love the pictures!!

So far no snow here, yet! It is not suppose to start until after 6 anyway. Maybe they are way wrong and it will pass us!! Crossing fingers.

I flew as a child and didn't like then either! Oh well!

Hahaha! I love the letter to the Focus guy!

Thanks for getting an answer on the meme thing. I've been trying to figure it out myself!

What is the new sleep toy?? Please advise!

I don't know what a meme is either! :-)
Swim lessons sounds so much fun! I should look into that for Brad.

Cute pictures of G in the snow! :-)
~Heather

Oh my gosh! A FORD?! I used to drive one, against my will. HAAAATED that car, was embarrassed to drive it! I can't believe someone would call attention to a focus like that!

Hope next week is better for you!!

Oh how sweet! We're getting some storm right now that's heading to the east coast. Those lucky ducks on the east coast are getting up to 30 inches. We're just getting a measly 8-12.

Over from ff, I'm following you now

I LOVE your letter to the pimped out driver...too funny!

And your G is the cutest little lump of pink in the snow...one year ago...they just grow sooo quickly.

Since I'm having such a hard time getting a sitter for V-Day... we may be staying home eating mac-n-cheese (and not the grown up kind!)

Oh well... Anyway, Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

Happy SITS day!

I am curious - what toy did you get to help G sleep? Little Man has always been a HORRIBLE sleeper and now, at 16 months, is just starting to fall asleep on his own and/or sleep through the night about half the nights. Way to go with finding something to help her sleep! She is a DOLL!

We never do anything for Valentine's day. Sad?

I love the pictures. Isn't amazing how much they change in such a seemingly small amount of time?

Grown up Mac & Cheese? Do share! :)

Stopping by from Foursons - love your letter! I just don't get it when people sink all kinds of money into those wee little mobiles!

We got stuck under 30 inches over here...still shoveling out!! I got some great pics of the babe in it...too cute!! How does G like the snow??
