Ahhhhhh, Favorite Friday Features (that's my new term for the trio of Friday Fragments/Fill In The Blank Friday/Five Question Friday)... How I've missed you!

-G got not one, not two, not three, but FIVE dolls for Christmas. Five? Surely, we could have communicated a little better as an extended family about that. Oh yeah, and she got three "play barns", too. Amazingly, not a single of the dolls nor the barns were duplicates, and for some reason, we are keeping each and every one.
-G thinks she can feed those new baby dolls. Problem is, she actually expects her babies to eat just like she does. She gives the baby raisins, then leaves them, thinking the doll will eat them just like G does. Silly girl.
-Speaking of those raising... my daughter loves them, but apparently, her digestive system does NOT. She poops those puppies out in the exact same form they go in. It's disgusting.
-All I wanted to do on Christmas Eve was enjoy a nice glass of wine by the light of the Christmas tree with DH. He offered to go to the store and buy a bottle of pinot grigio. We normally buy Two Buck Chuck (or some variety in that price range), but decided to splurge on a $15 bottle for the occasion. DH comes home with a $22 bottle of pinot noir. I had no words.
-Once again, we are expecting a "dusting" of snow today-- aka, less than half an inch. Once again, these Southern
-When I was little, I once stapled my fingers together just to see what it felt like. It hurt. Don't judge me... I was very young, and very naive.
-Also when I was little (but not as little as when I stapled my fingers together), I truly believed we would be bombed by the Iraqis (bombs over Baghdad, anyone?) during the first Gulf War. I instituted a "black out" policy (a la WW2) in my house and always made my parents keep the shades drawn... even during the day. Yes, I was a weird kid. Even weirder? That my parents indulged me and kept the shades down!
-I am more than a little miffed with everybody's favorite mouse, Mickey. You see, G loves waking up to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while she drinks her morning milk; but her day doesn't really start until they do the Hot Dog Dance. Well, darn it if they didn't start calling the "Hot Dog Dance" the "Mousekedance" over the holidays. It might not bum her out, but it bums me out! I liked the other name much better.
Let's continue with...
"Fill In The Blank Friday"

Well, now this is complicated because there are your standard reality shows, like "The Real World" and "The Hills" (haha, ok, I know "The Hills" and for that matter, "Laguna Beach", were NOT reality!!!). Then, there are reality game shows, like "Amazing Race" and "Biggest Loser". And then (tired yet?) there are reality competition shows, like "America's Got Talent" and "American Idol".
If all things are equal... and ALL THREE of those categories count as true "reality" shows, then I pick...
For years, I actually considered trying out for the show. I can and do dance (remember this old post?), although age and childbirth have
And last, but by no means least, Mama M's "Five Question Friday"...

This week's questions are:
1. What's your "comfort food"?
Um, can I say anything and everything??? I love to eat... it's why I'll never successfully diet. My comfort foods, however, really depend on the season. Like now, in the winter, I crave DH's Frito Chili. It's delicious, and it hits the spot on cold winter days. In the spring and summer, I like lighter foods, like a salad with gorgonzola cheese and a balsamic vinegarette. And in the fall, I love "football" food-- hot dogs and hamburgers, and an ice cold beer, which go great with tailgating!
2. Do you send Thank You's (handwritten or email)?
Always! My mother and grandmother brought me up to believe a card of thanks is absolutely vital in polite society. Plus, it's a great excuse for me to always have a nice set of stationary on hand to write them! And I am efficient with those suckers; I don't like to let things lag-- I really have a hard time procrastinating, unlike DH-- so I tend to get them out and in the mail within a week of receiving a gift.
3. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
Haha, this is so much like Tamara's "Fill In The Blank" question from above! But, it's an easy one: I'd say "Glee". C'mon, if you've read this post, or this one, then you know I'm obsessed with that show!
4. What is your favorite online recipe site?
Well, you see, um, the thing is... I don't cook! DH & I made a deal a few months back that he would handle all the cooking, and I would handle all the cleaning. I actually like cleaning toilets, but I hate cooking; and I'm rather terrible at it, too. So, for the past four months or so, I have lived in the domestic bliss of not cooking a single dish (with the sole exception of oatmeal for G & me on cold mornings!)
5. If you had to choose: "Friends" or "Seinfeld"?
If we're considering this question in the same light as question #3-- which TV show I'd want to "live in"-- then I'd say "Friends". They seem like a fun group! But I actually prefer watching "Seinfeld". The comedy is much more raw and gets away from the more "slapstick" or "situational" humor on "Friends".

I think "everything" is an acceptable answer for favorite comfort food. For me the answer is Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
I just had Frito chili for dinner last night - one of my fam's favorites! (Before you get too impressed with this Betty Crocker, I should tell you I screwed up dinner the previous two nights - we had "Too Salty Pea Soup" Wed. night and Tues. night we had chicken stew that was more like diced chicken and veggies in hot milk. I had to make it up to them...)
Emma and G sound like they were seperated at birth. My girl loves to dance to the hotdog dance (acutally spind in circles instead of dancing but ya know) also poops whole raisens.. what kind of nutrition could they be getting if they dont even digest it..LOL
I am so with ya on the cooking thing.. derek does prob 75 percent of our cooking.. its just totally not my thing!
Have a great weekend
I loved your fragments today; it cracks me up about the raisins, too. We don't eat raisins typically, but we DO eat dried cranberries-and they look the same coming out, too!
Hey Elizabeth, I am a recently new follower!
I just had to say, my son's digestive system treats him almost the same way with raisins. He eats them and grapes come out. It's CRAZY...
And I wanted to say Hi :-)
You really think Napi-Tabs would cut you? God how I (we) love that show in this house! Nowhere near good enough to be on it, but if I would love to! So fun....

I picked Glee for the TV show I would like to be in too! It is my favorite new show, I hate that we have to wait until April for new episodes!
I'm so jealous of your dancing skills. You should totally try out!
We got that "dusting" yesterday, and the grocery stores were packed. Ridiculous.
I've got an award for you over at my blog :)
Stapled your fingers together?! A daredevel, were you?
I need to cut out some food in order to acheive comfort again.
Um... I'll plug my own recipe site. :0) http://reciperecovery.blogspot.com/
Friends and Seinfeld is a hard choice for me. Both make me laugh.
Once when I was younger I tried to use a hole punch to make a circle in my hair. Um yeah I was a brilliant kid. What can I say?
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I've actually never seen Glee - can you believe it! It must come on when I watch something?
You've got a lot going on Fridays! Have a great weekend!
C
I changed one of Boy's diapers a few weeks ago and honest to G-d found intact sliced up grapes. The kid swallows things whole. They're the same age, so it makes sense that they do the same thing.
I must be further south than you, because we're still looking to the skies and hoping for snow. It seems like it always gets juuuust warm enough that we get rain instead!
Okay, asking me to choose between Friends and Seinfeld is like asking me to choose which one of my children I love most. Those were coming of age shows for me...I watched through high school and college. The shows' endings were sad for me. :s
Thanks for the visit. At least one of us got boots (your daughter). ;)
I'm totally with you on the Seinfeld! I heart that show.
Thank you for your comment!
Enjoyed reading your answers :-)
You lucky one who doesn't need to cook - great deal...
We seem to be a select few, but I don't care haha, Seinfeld is so funny, I had to pick it! :)
Have a good weekend!
Would you believe that my dd (now almost 13) has only owned ONE doll her whole life? Well, one baby doll -- the Bitty Baby. She does have 3 American Girl dolls (all bought by her grandmother). She's just never been a doll kind of kid.
Last night's dinner here was waffles and eggs (real made by mom not pop in the toaster waffles -- a rare treat here). Tonight, leftovers. Don't want them getting used to the special treatment!
LOL! My word verification word is colonsp -- related to your raisin story?!
I so agree with your answer to Seinfeld v Friends - I answered thinking about a show to live in with Friends, but I definitely prefer the humor in Seinfeld!
I misread the beginning of the post as:G got not one, not two, not three, but FIVE dollars for Christmas. Five? Surely, we could have communicated a little better as an extended family about that.
I kept thinking,"What's wrong with 5 dollars?" Silly me.
What on earth is Frito Chili and can I have the recipe?!!! That sounds DELISH! Yum.
Question, when you have time...I notice you leave a link to your blog in your comments...strategery? I'd love to hear the idea behind it!
Glad to have you!
Love girls and their dolls!
Hope you enjoyed the "snow"! Cobb schools were out, so that was enough for us. :o)
Happy FF and cold weekend!
I couldnt possibly pick one comfort food either...if its food, its comfortable!
Heh, not quite what you were expecting, but was the pinot noir any good? I quite like pinot noir but hubby doesn't much so we don't buy it often, we always have a few bottles of the Scarborough one from the Hunter Valley stashed in the cellar though.
If I had to be trapped in a TV show for a month I'd pick Dr Who, just think of the places and times you could visit.
thanks for your comment today :)
I wish I had you to send all of my thank you notes for me!
and cooking is SO overrated!
Ah Elizabeth... I must comment!
--Oh, don't get me started on the NASTY poo's of this age. EUW.
-- I love to see a fellow northerner express disgust at how they treat a half inch of snow in the south. Although, would you not agree with me... whatever amount the FIRST snowfall is (ok, it has to be over 4 inches though), we always make a fuss... but come the 2nd snowfall, it is OLD news? For example, our first big storm was 15inches... HUGE fuss... this last storm, 8 inches... little if any fuss.
--Omg, I remember being little & wondering what would happen if I put my thumb under the sewing machine needle!!!! I don't think I ever did it b/c I can't recall being injured....
The reality tv show I'd pick to be on is: _______
**Heavens, I don't know! I only really ever watched Survivor, and there is no way in hell I'd want to actually be on that show! I'd NEVER ever be good enough to be on any dancing shows! I did a bit of dancing in highschool, but nothing good.
1. You and I are food twins. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chili!!!! I am almost obsessed with it! But I like the lighter stuff too ;-) Much to DH's dismay. Boys. :-p
2. I am totally a handwritten thank you note (promptly) person. In fact... I am still miffed at waiting for a thank you from a co-workers wedding in Sept that I gave a gift and took pictures of. STILL no thank you in January! Geesh. At least I finally got a verbal thank you in mid-DECEMBER!
3. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
I'd have to say Mythbusters... yep, the science dork in me showing (plus, it is just cool to blow up things!).
4. What is your favorite online recipe site?
Ok, DH also does WAY more cooking than I do... but mostly b/c he won't eat what I cook (so why bother)? My favorite site is CafeMom's Crockpot Moms & also the Cooking Light site.
5. If you had to choose: "Friends" or "Seinfeld"?
For me, Seinfeld... I am so sarcastic it is more fitting to my nature!
As always, love the blog. Stop by bbc... we miss you!
well, since we have been in a deep freeze for weeks, my "new" comfort food is hot chocolate with marshmellow fluff.
Yup, the later years aren't as good as the high school ones, although it is still surprisingly watchable and entertaining now without Lucas and Peyton around.
I also would do "SYTYCD." Oh, and I also was so, so scared during the first Gulf War. I was 9 or something, and freaked out that my life would turn into Molly's from the American Girl collection.
On that note, I should go to bed. I am rambling on a comment post about American Girls. :)
22 on wine?! I LOVE Two Buck Chuck. Although it's up to Three Buck in Mass.
I love the show SYTYCD!!
I just got into Glee this last week. I have watched the last 5 episodes! SO glad the truth came out about sectionals!
There's nothing like a good hot dog or cheeseburger!
Loved your fragments... and the comment about the raisins LOL!
I think they should have a SYTYCD -mama edition - you'd rock it! I loved dance a lot (and still have a blast at hip hop cardio class - which is about as much as my aging booty can handle these days LOL!)
