Her name is Elizabeth.
She is the reigning monarch of England.
And I share a name with her.
I've taken my royal name as a bit of a birthright.
I celebrate my birthday the entire month of April.
I regularly wear tiaras and sashes on my birthday and other holidays.
I even have one of those cheeky little pillows that proclaims my home "my kingdom".
Is that proof enough?
Now, I want to share my royal fortune with you.
Starting in January, I will crown one of my followers "Queen of the Week" on my blog. That person will get prime billing at the top of my blog every day for that entire week, so that you (her royal subjects) can go and check out her awesomeness. But that's not all! Every two months, I will use a random number generator to select which "Queen" from the prior eight weeks will receive a $10 gift card to Starbucks, so she can have some royal "me time".
It's simple to play along.
Starting now, just send your nominations (it is completely a-ok to nominate oneself... a true queen must have confidence in herself, am I right?) to this email addres:

I need to win this award so I can once again show the weatherman people like to read the stuff I write, even if it may embarrass the living heck out of him. He doesn't understand blogging, social networking and tries to dethrone me constantly from the freedoms of doing them. As ruler of all I see and survey, with the last name ironically of King, and that I just think I need to reign over I nominate myself. Maybe with the cool button on my blog, I will garner more respect from my fam-damily...No? My bday is also in April - the 22nd actually, I'll be 30. EEK! I read about your college dance team - I was on my high school's dance team and attended a performing arts school in Vegas my junior year. I understand what you must be feeling, to some degree. I stay home with my kids, but my hubs works loooong hours and is not home a lot. When he is home I sometimes resent him b/c he throws our schedule off. Does that make sense? ;) Thanks for the visit!

I nominate myself, only because I have never won a crown of any kind. I wasn't nominated for Homecoming Queen, nor was I a candidate for Miss America either. Isn't it every girl's dream to be crowned? I do own some socks that say "What the Queen wants, the Queen gets" that my husband bought for me, and ONCE after completing whatever chore I asked him to do he said "anything else your majesty?"... but that is as close as I've come to being royalty. :-)
