Maybe you call them boobs.
Maybe you call them breasts.
Maybe you even call them hooters.
They come in as many sizes
and shapes as they do names.
But today's Truthful Tuesdays question is:

If this is your first time visiting for Truthful Tuesdays, I hope you're not intimidated by the rather, uh,
Actually, I didn't come up with this question.
My husband did..
Yup. You heard right.
Apparently, he's been wanting to ask me this question for months. He just couldn't figure out how to do it without sounding like a duchebag. Ultimately, his manly
***************************************
DH: Honey, what do you think of her chest? (asked as we were watching a movie)
ME: Huh?
DH: I mean, do you think they're real or not?
ME: I honestly have no clue. Why? Do you like them?
DH: Well... (it's obvious he knows he's crossed into uncharted waters)... it's just, they're very perky. Like yours used to be (wow, a dagger to my pride).
ME: Used to be?
DH: Yeah, well, you know. Before you nursed G.
***************************************
I spent that night in front of the mirror, looking at my chest. I looked at it from the side. From the front. I even took a gander upside down (won't do that again).
I would consider getting the girls "perked up" a bit.
It's something I never would have said a year ago. Back when they were the size of watermelons, full of life-giving milk. I would never heven have entertained such a notion before getting preggo.
But now?
NOW?
What's changed?
Well, two years ago, I was a nice, average C-cup. Last year, I was a full, post-partum D-cup. Now... I barely fill a B-cup. (Is this ironic or what? There's a mammogram commercial on the TV as I type this...)
It's not that I'm really worried what DH thinks about my boobs. Of course, I want him to like them, but I know he will no matter what. I'm not even trying to conform to what society's image of a perfect woman is. And I'm certainly not trying to take back what made them so... eh... saggy. I'm proud of what they did for my daughter for the past 14 months.
Answering, "Yes, I'd get a boob job" sounds so shallow to me... until I really think about why I'd do it. I wouldn't do it for anybody else. I'd do it for me. I wouldn't try to be something I'm not; I'd just return them to their prior glory days.
I still can't believe I'm saying this.
I'm curious to hear what all of you think:

haha. well i think you know how i would answer this question :) i feel kind of obligated to answer since i think in your case a boob job might not be the ideal choice.
obviously, i was 18 when i had mine. i am happy with them- i had saline under the muscle. silicone feels more real but it has risks of nerve damage if they burst (which some do after 15 years) it was a good idea for what i wanted, i was a small A and i mainly wanted a better shape. there are so many people out there with them that you would never think of as having implants. i meet them every day! if you do get them here is my advice
1. do a lot of research first. i knew through my parents who the best plastic surgeon in the area was. he did all of the beauty queens and he had beautiful technique. i love how mine look but i have seen some truly awful jobs. i suggest dr. i think gregorias? at duke plastics for example. he is wonderful (not very warm and fuzzy)
2. always go half a size to one size larger than you think you want to be. i know at least 3 people who didn't and later had them upgraded
3. be REALLY sure its what you want. i can't really say if i would do it again. i like them, but it was a major surgery with a risk of death. i also didn't think about how i think 30% of people will need revision surgery after 15 years due to scarring, implant failure etc. that scares me. also, they will never feel natural again. every guy who has felt them has immediately asked if they were real. they love the look, hate the feel. i really envy girls with less perfect looking breasts that are nice and soft.
ok here is why i think its not a great choice in your case- my mom did the same thing you are suggesting. she wanted her previously perky breasts back and had her Bs upgraded to Ds. she HATED them and had them taken out about 8 years later. the surgery only made them larger, not perky. she had very saggy large breasts and it did make her look older and more matronly. the best choice if you want perky back is to get a "breast lift". its also a major surgery and you should wait until you are done having children and get a tummy tuck at the same time. you will have some scars but if you are a good scarer (this is genetic) they will be faint. maybe throw in some botox for good measure :)you can get botox or restylene soon if you want a quick fix.
anyway, just remember that your boobs are always beautiful! i think they it your body very well and going to anything over a C would look inappropriate. you have a very athletic figure. if you are OK with them looking fake then you might be able to work a D. i like that no one suspects that mine are fake personally.
What an interesting topic! I would have to say that I would not get my breasts enlarged but once I am done having babies I wouldn't mind getting them put back where they belong! Breastfeeding sure takes a toll on them.
Considering I was at a D in high-school and currently up to a DDD, if I considered anything it would be reduction. Thing is, though, I actually really like my size, no matter how cumbersome they can be sometimes. They are such a part of me I can't imagine making such a drastic change.
Stopping by from SITS. Um...no I wouldn't consider one. Maybe getting the lovelies "tacked up" a bit would be a good idea, but I'm so adverse to pain that I wouldn't consider it for long LOL. I "ripened" at an early age and "big-uns" were always a part of my life. LOL
But, that's just me...
I would love to get a boob job - after I'm done having kids though...I feel your pain on the fluctuating boob size. I was a small D before the babe...an overflowing D after and now I'm a full C (I didn't breast-feed the babe). The man wants 3-4 kids...so I'm sure the girls are going to be yo-yoing a bit in the coming years.

Come on by, stay for a while and leave a comment or two!!
I will post my answer later this evening..after I get the Hot and Healthy post out of the way..and link up to you..
Love the question!
I used to say no, and if they came up with something natural that they could inject into the boobies to fill em up then I would, but I don't think I would put a bag in there...
Not sure I am willing to tackle this one on my own blog today. But I love your post and my answer is Yes, Yes, Yes! I woudldn't do it for DH or to make society remember how hot I was before kids ;) I would do it for me. It's on my wish list . . .
What a funny topic! Honestly, I would never get an enlargement. I have been a big D my whole life and loving sports, I have hated the size of my girls. The bouncing when running, getting in the way of things... very annoying. During my pregnancy they were up to a DD and now that I am nursing I shudder to know their actual size. Hubby says no to a reduction, but I am not through negotiating. When we are through having kids I am sure this topic will be revisited :)
If I could get my boobs to go back to what they were before Bree, I'd do it. Pre-Bree, I was perfect B. They were perky, and didn't sag. After Bree, I'm in a C and yes, they sag. The funny thing is that I didn't even breastfeed, because I didn't make any milk. I was dry, but my boobs got HUGE! But yes, if I could be that perfect, perky B again...I would.
Of course I would love to have "younger" boobs - but I'm freaked out by surgery, pain and complications. That and if I had that kind of money, I might go on a really good vacation with a really good bra.
Great question! I totally cheated and am pulling out a post that I wrote a few months ago.
The McLinky isn't working for me right now, but here's my post:
http://thingsicantsay-shell.blogspot.com/2009/09/girls.html
Girl, I could have written this exact post! I too was a very full D just a couple of months ago and now barely fill a B cup!
I too would and will get a boob job once we are done having kids. Not just for my husband but for me!I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror. Now I don't want huge stripper tits by any means but a good C would be nice :)
I never imagined they could be so saggy!
That being said, I am so glad I could breastfeed for the 7 months that I did and wouldn't trade it for the world!
Thanks for adding my link! I don't know why I can't right now!
Congrats on your 100th post.
I most definitly will one day! i have rather large boobs - double d's. i have always told myself that i will get them when i'm done having children and nursing. I just think every woman should feel good about their breasts. and if a boob job is what will make them feel good, then so be it! i know i have large boobs right now, but one of these days, they will be saggy, and i dont want saggy boobs. lol!
Wow, the 100th post already? :-) Awesome.
I think I could have written this post. Seriously, you and I are in the EXACT same boat. Used to be a C, then like an E! Now, only heavens knows. I miss the perky girls. They just look so sad now. I used to say I'd NEVER get a boob job, well, maybe a reduction. I guess breastfeeding took care of that one ;-)
It is hard when the men like the "new" stuff isn't it? I feel like I am losing the battle of age :-( Is there anyway to just get them to perk up & not "replace" them???
Sigh. I wonder what we can say to the hubbies to make them understand how it feels to hear that kind of "feedback".
:-p
Yours should perk back up after a few months. It is a common misconception that nursing has an affect (effect?) on perkiness. In fact, I have nursed 4 kids over 17 years and mine are still my best feature. I believe it is excess weight in general that causes sagginess, though I could be wrong. Anyway, no, I would not get a boob job, unless by "job" you mean reduction as well. Then, I might consider it, but really, if I had that kind of $$, it wouldn't be spent on vanity, elective, terribly painful surgery. That's just me though. :)
Right now, I would say absolutely not. In about ten years when when our family is complete I might change my mind.
Karen
Good question which has led to some good discussion. it's interesting to see all the varied opinions.
Thanks, lady!(I did fix my typo on my waning, though!) Great question!
I want my girls "perked up" when they are done being used as nature intended! I plan on having at least one more child, maybe more so it wouldn't be for quite some time. But a good bra does help!
BTW-I tried to figure out mcklinky & just couldn't I need a tutorial or something!
I would definitely get them done if I could. Like you said, it would be for me.
Congrats on 100 posts!
I'm actually okay with my bewbies. If I could change anything, I would get a tummy tuck. Yes, I'm slightly overweight, but my main issue is what was left for me after having my daughter. I had a c-section and TON of stretch marks. If I could just get that clipped of and sewn back together, life...or...wearing normal clothes would be so much easier. I'm not begging to look like a toothpick, I just want to wear a pair of non-mom jeans without my "flap" trying to take a dive over the waist!
Thank you for stopping by my blog!!!!!
I would look pretty silly as a cat with a boob job lol
I would totally get a boob job. And I haven't even had kids yet! I know some people get all snarky about how its shallow or whatever, but what's important is how you feel about yourself! So bring on the plastic surgery! lol

Hell to the yes I would! Mine were a solid D back in the day. I loved the way they looked in my bathing suit when I was nursing. I want them to make my hips look smaller!!! I lost 35 lbs a few years ago and now they just look like empty socks hanging off my chest. I have to roll them up and stuff them in my bra. I miss my old bubbies....(but not all that weight I lost with them!)
Wow! Love your boldness today...
Okay, so that one is a day to day differing answer for me. Would I get a boob job? I started out pre- kids in a B-cup, but at 5'8" and 114 lbs, B cup suited me fine. When I was pregnant the first time, they swelled to a D cup during pregnancy, and for the (breastfeeding) year that followed, I was in an E cup (yep, my brothers even commented, which is NOT a comfortable topic of conversation). Then they deflated to a C cup. SO- with baby number 2, I stayed around a C or D cup. Now I'm comfortably in a C cup.
My issue is that NO bra fits post nursing boobs. I have E size skin with AA size filling, so it's like a deflated balloon with a little bit of pudding in them... GROSS!! I would like to say that I could care less and would never consider it, but that's not being TRUTHFUL! I'm just not sure I'd like to go through the pain of it all....
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday on "Not Me" Monday....it's nice to see other workin' mama's in a world of SAHM's, that is for sure!!
I wasn't brave enough to address the subject of breasts in my blog this week (HA!) but regarding your question, I would love to get a reduction and lift but would be scared to DEATH to go under the knife for something cosmetic. Think Kanye's mom.... :(
Dude, if I had the money, I would look like a contestant on The Swan. Yes, I totally would plump up these 38 longs!
A reduction with a lift. Back where they used to be once upon a time ago.
Sure.
Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.
Happy 100th post and Congrats!
If I got a boob job which I don't think I would, only because I think mine fit me perfectly even if they aren't big tatas, I would be afraid that getting one surgery might lead to the next and the next.
I think making one thing "perfect" would make other things appear less perfect.
Great post! I'll be back. ;o)
Hmmm....I'd be too afraid of the surgery. I'm not finished breastfeeding my son though, haha. I'll see what I think afterwards, but I'll probably not want to.
I think I'd be too scared with all the times those surgeries have gone wrong. I don't have kids yet, so perhaps this will change if I do have kids....we'll see, I guess! :) Loved the question!
I would have them lifted, most definitely. Thanks for stopping by my blog, Im following you now :)
:giggles: a little at this uncharted territory..
So I have my boobs done. I did mine when I was 21. I was overweight - well still not at an ideal weight but "more" overweight so when I lost all the weight I lost all the fat in my boobs, gone they disappeared. I used to rock a C cup and suddenly I had a very small B cup - I say B cup because I refused to go and buy an A cup (ashamed? Probably).. so anyway - I finally said eff it I'm doing this for me, for my self esteem so I can feel good about myself- I came along way from losing weight. So thats what I did. I am now a Full C and was a D when I became prego. I have not had any problems with them, I love them - I do feel as though I need a lift -after being overweight and then becoming thin, to pregnant, to losing weight - to gaining I'm pretty stretched out and could definitely use a lift. I will probably do this after I have my 2nd baby, and I will also be asking about the "jelly bean" silicone implants, instead of the saline like I have now. They are also located behind my muscle which in my opinion is the best placement :0)
Good luck with you decision.
I would LOVE to get a boob job!! I've nursed 4 kids. I deserve it!
I would DEFINITELY get a boob job!
I am saving my money and as soon as I decide that I am done having kids, that is going to be my present to me!

I really enjoyed your website! Your blog is wonderful reading. Have you heard of Danny the Dragon? One of my favorites, and worth a visit as it is the nominee for Best Children’s Picture Book of 2009! http://DannyTheDragon.com
Hello there! Enjoy the week. God Bless!
I would have to say I am a lucky lady. I was a D went up to DD or more while nursing and then went back to a D. Right after nursing my boobs were saggy and sad looking but after a few months they perked right back up and looked really good. I am pregnant with my second and as long as the same thing happens I wouldn't get one.
Yet, if for some reason they get really saggy or super small if we had the money maybe, but I would totally get my tummy done first!
congrats on 100 posts.
Ok so yeah, I've thought about this and have blogged once (maybe twice) about the state of my boobage.
I don't remember if they were EVER perky, I had such body image issues when I was younger...hell, probably still do...but...
I've lost 30 lbs with weight watchers and now have kept it off for over a year...and well, the girls...they um, are smaller...maybe smaller than they ever were...and they sag.....and so...long story short (too late) I'd TOTALLY get a lift for sure...and maybe a little filler or something.
LOL at this topic. For sure I would get one. I need one. LOL
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Totally would, if I got the urge to have one done. . . not because Stephen wanted me to get one.
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest
I'm gettin' in on this conversation! I would not get a boob job just because the idea of having something fake living inside me wierds me out. I would however have a boob lift, but it would not be the top of my plastic surgery wish list. There are about four other things that would come before that one!
I think in 10 years I would do it. Im only 26 and I think Ill have 2 more kids. So I think Ill wait till Im done having kids first.
I would definatly yes!!! I also nursed 4 but thanks to genetics I also have the deflated ballons, lol. I would also get a tummy tuck and lipo at the same time. I also have a very poor body immage I feel this would make me feel better about how I look.
Your husband cracks me up. Men!
I have to say, I'm lucky in that my chest looks exactly the same as it did prior to having children. But I DO want one of those mommy lifts/makeovers I see on TV - that is, if someone else wants to pay for it :-)
actually I DID
and I did it for me..no one else :)
and I have never regreted it...well maybe the night of my surgery when I was violent throwing my guts up with a chest so sore that every movement felt like I would die at any moment...yeah probably then I regreted it...but after that NOPE :)
