So I thought, what better way to end 2009 than by looking back at all that I've lost and found this year.
Remembering that not all that's lost should necessarily be found...
-My last 10 pounds of baby weight, and then another 10 pounds just for good measure
-My free time
-All responsibility for making dinner (thank you, DH!)
-Two of my favorite coworkers, who have both moved on to new jobs in the past three months
-DH's cell phone charger (still missing, even three months after this post)
-My ability-- and desire-- to keep my home clean and presentable
-My focus and drive at work; while I still give it my all every day, I realize my passion is no longer in a TV newsroom
-My fear of tomorow. For the first time in my life, I am truly happy with who I am-- and where my life is-- right now
-My inhibitions... being a mother is truly liberating. I now understand why my mother was never embarassed to be seen in public, in her pajamas, without makeup
Remembering that not all that's found is necessarily lost...
-300+ of the best darn bloggy friends a girl could ask for... and an outlet for all my creative passions
-Confidence in who I am and who I want to be, and the drive to do whatever it takes to get there
-A handful of cheesy poofs decaying underneath the living room sofa (ewwwwwww)
-Airing your innermost thoughts in public can lead to a lot of negative feedback
-There is a difference between being honest and being faithful
-Generousity and compassion from unexpected sources at unexpected times
-Living paycheck to paycheck can take a heavy toll on a person
-New desire for my husband, new awe in my daughter, more respect for myself

That's so touching! It sounds like(for the most part anyway), you have had a fabulous year!
What wonderful lists! It is amazing what can come about in a year. Happy 2010!
This is a great list. Let's see in 2009 I lost my house and several of my sales accounts thanks to statewide budget cuts in Pennyslvania, but I also found out I have what it takes to be a published author and found a few new accounts to make up for the lost ones. I found out some unpleasant news this year, but also found some better news, and I am hopeful that there will be more of the good and less of the bad in 2010. Wishing you a happy New Year!
Great post!
I think it takes guts to air out your innermost thoughts and it drives me nuts when people just have negative things to say about it! I mean, when was the last time they had something profound to say!
Your list had me laughing in some parts! I wish you the best in 2010!
Happy New Year!
Stopping by from SITS!
Great post! I love your blog! And what I love most about your blog is the honesty. Congrats on losing the baby weight. Hopefully I can write about the same thing this time next year! Happy New Year's. Tammy www.thismamaworksit.com
Awesome lists!! I love looking back to see how my perspective on life has changed over time.
Sorry I'v been a horrible bloggy friend lately, the holidays sent me into a whirlwind, but I'm looking forward to reading your new campaign starting tomorrow!
...and we are all glad that we found you!!! Wishing you all the best in the new year!

Sigh. Still working on my weight. So close, but it sems like it is just taking so long. I like this post. Short and sweet, not a super long recap. Hope you had a great vacation...Happy New Year to you!
What a fabulous idea, Elizabeth. I'm going to have to remember this for my own blog next year.
Let's see, I lost: 35+ lbs, my boyfriend and my best friend (were the same person)
Found: out that I'm having a poem published, new friendships, old friendships, and more self-confidence
I look forward to continuing to read your blog and finding out what 2010 brings you!
Wish I could lose my last 10 lbs!! lol
I've found that I don't care that anyone sees me in my pj's without makeup. Found that I can be dealt a lot and still come out standing!
found new friends and old friends. lost some friends.
Great post! They always make me smile!
Here's hoping you have an even better 2010! *cheers*
Happy New Year!
Love both your lists! Happy New Year!
I love your post. It takes guts to air out your innermost thoughts but dignity to stand up when the negative nancy's (no pun intended to anyone) start attacking you.
I'm so glad I found your blog. I love my bloggy friends too! Good luck this next year. I'm hoping it's a good one!
What a great post! I liked the year in review. Good for you for having lost all the baby weight plus some :o) Happy New Year to you and yours.
Goos Stuff! I found out my wife was pregnant! ( Due today- New years Eve!) and I lost 32inch waist, due to all of my wifes preggo eating habits!
Shane
This is such a unique way to recap the year! I hope 2010 is even better!
Thanks for visiting my blog - and the kind compliments on my name letters! I'd love to see how yours turn out if you decide to make them! :)
Happy New Year!
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
I'm not looking forward to 2010. I'm not sure life can get much better. I am blessed.
Happy New Year!
well said!
i've lost 24 lbs (i'd call it baby fat but the baby is 18 years old now)
and found an inner strength that amazes me daily.
Here's to more great discoveries in 2010!
I LOST my awful smoking habit, and FOUND the bestest hobby ever!!
Happy New Year and thank you for visiting on my special SITS day!!
Lost and Found lists - that's a great idea.
Have a great New Year!
What a great way to review your year. I'm hoping to get pregnant with our first in 2010 - and it's good for me to remember to be happy where we are at RIGHT NOW. I'm glad you've gotten to your place - it sounds like a private tropical beach with a waiter!
Happy New Year!
Great post! I like your point about friendships being there for certain periods in your life...so true!
Best wishes to you & your family in 2010!
Great post!! I agree on so many of those things, like the loss of wanting to keep my house presentable. Hey, something had to go out the window before I LOST my sanity, right? And sanity is way more important than a presentable house! ;-)
I'd mention in my list the loss of an ovary (didn't need it anyhow), and I've added an incredibly happy son to my house of blue!
Happy New Year to you and yours...be safe!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a Happy New Year! Can't think of any lost's and found's for this year, but will try and keep tabs for them in the year to come. :)
Wishing you all the best in 2010! God Bless!
Wonderful post! Love it!
Happy New Year & thanks for visiting my blog! :)
Prosperous new year to all!
Hey there, great post!! Awesome stuff on your list. I like how the stuff you lost and found weren't exactly negative/positive.
And thanks for the super-sweet comment on my blog!!!
I made my own post of a way with where I was and where I plan to be, check it out! :)
great post. i can't even begin to get a list together. i don't make resolutions. i don't want to be disappointed. one thing i do want to do is blog less and spend more time with my family, but being on line is an addiction for me. maybe there is a "patch" or "gum" i could buy that would help me. take care and happy 2010.
