Answer: Oh dear, I'm afraid of my own answer on this one. Truthfully (isn't what this series is all about?), it's been a long time since I did something just for me. Sure, I made the bed, did the dishes, and cleaned the house because I
No, of course it doesn't. In fact, I have a really tough time stepping back from my duties as a working mom/wife and doing something I enjoy without an ulterior motive behind it. When I'm at work, I'm thinking about being home. After G goes to bed at night, I'm thinking about the next day at work. I'm not really good sometimes living in the moment, and I think that's why I'm so bad at treating myself to something special.
In all honesty, writing this blog has become incredibly cathartic and is something I do just because I like it (I think it's pretty cool that so many of you like it too, but really, I wouldn't write down my deepest, darkest thoughts and share them with the world at large if I didn't enjoy-- ok, adore-- it). But apart from my 15 minutes or so here every day, what am I doing just for me?
So, to answer my own question in a rather round-a-bout way (I am the queen of beating around the bush), I guess I have to admit that I can't remember the last time I did something just for me. I'd like to say I'll do something to remedy that right away, like, say, taking an hour Saturday morning to get a pedicure (we've got some Vietnamese places in town that do a killer job for $25-- it's a steal)... but I'd be lying. The truth is, right now, spending every waking, breathing moment watching my daughter grow up is what I enjoy, and there should be no shame in that!

Question: So, what are you doing just for "you" these days?
Dreaming of getting my hair done.
Why?
Well, because it needs it - Hello Roots! And actually getting it done takes so much planning I just don't have the time or energy commit.
Love the question!
I blog and that is what I do for me!
I agree, moms do do much that's JUST for them, I can't even remember the last thing. I also love blogging so I kind of consider that as "my time" when the kids are sleeping.
Also, it's always great to read about another OCD person! :)
What do I do for me?
I am happy when I get to take a shower and NOT have a little boy throw toys into the shower with me! Lol. Seriously, I love that time alone in the shower w/o having to worry that he will throw his lovies in the tub (a new fascination of his).
Other than that... on a regular basis? On the weekend I will have a glass of wine. But mostly I like to come home from work and just play w/ Z. This weekend, DH is taking me away to celebrate our anniversary. It is for us... not necessarily for me, but it will be fun.
