G Want Cookie

Posted by: Confessions From A Work-At-Home Mom

Take a good look at this picture:

They could be twins, right?

OK, I know, not really, but the past few days, my sweet, little G has taken on the personality of a monster... a cookie monster.

Sometime during the Halloween onslaught of candy, someone (I'm not naming names) taught my daughter how to say, "Cookie". Usually, it comes out as a simple "Coo" or "Keys", but every once in a while, this genius of a child manages to spit out the first double-syllable word of her life with near perfection.

Great. Her first truly coherent word is a food. And not something wholesome like broccoli or carrots. I'm not sure what this says about my parenting skills. Actually, G's "Keys" are animal crackers, but don't hold that against her. I told her they were cookies, so it's my fault.

My daughter will do anything for a "Key". ANYTHING. Come here and give Mommy a kiss? No problem. Bring the dog's toy back? Sure thing! Quit fussing? Without a doubt. Maybe the funniest thing is that when I give G one of her precious cookies, I usually ask her to sit down first... just like the dog. Oh geez.

I end up hiding the cookie bag around the house, for easy access in case of an emergency!

Elizabeth! you are hilarious. So love reading your blog posts!

Thanks for visiting my blog! My older son Monkey boy use to call cookies Cook-a . So cute reminded me of that.

LOL gotta love when kids start to talk!

Thanks for visiting! I'm following you now...G is precious! You are now a part of the secret mom club...you learned how to bribe, ha!

Thanks for stopping by! This bulk cooking/freezing/baking deal is a lot of work, but I'm hoping that it pays off!

Thanks for visiting my blog! G is adorable!!

LOL!! Hey, we have to have SOMETHING to control them, even at just a year old...

lol! Oh, the memories this brings back!

My now 2yr old's first real word after "mama" and "dada" was "cannie"... AKA Candy. He used to wake up in the mornings wanting to be nursed... until he learned the word "cannie." He STILL throws a few fits a day over wanting something sweet every. five. seconds.

I am so not above bribery with goodies... it's one of my favorite items in my parenting toolbox. ;)

I, too, am gonna add you to my list of folks I follow! I've been enjoying your blog this week!

Hi Elizabeth!!! Thanks so much for the sweet comment on my blog! It made my day!!!

Love your little cookie monster! she is just precious!!!

If she does all of that for a cookie, just wait and see what she will do for chocolate!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and the comment!

Well, to be fair, the payback is much larger for saying 'cookie' than a lot of other words.

'cookie' plus super cuteness is likely to actually score you cookies, after all!

She's adorable!

HAHAHAHA!!! My daughter is still that way over cookies...

Her diet:
chocolate milk
cookies
cheerios
goldfish

and that's ALL she'll eat right now (at 2 years old)... oh yeah and

Ketchup

LOL! My husband LOVES his Hornets jacket, mainly because he won it free :) I love your blog! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I love making new friends. I am sorry to hear your belly never went back to normal. I am hoping this time around I can manage it, but we will see.

I love when little kids are learning new words! So cute that G is trying to say cookie. It had me laughing and remembering how my son tried to say "hippopotamus" today. It came out very garbled, but darling. And how funny that she will do anything for one. But hey, at least they are animal crackers and not chocolate chip, right?

P.S. I am following you now.

As AmyR says... survival parenting. At least you have something to make the fussing stop. Z loves Yogurt bites. I am just happy when he eats anything!!!
I play cars with him and do the vroom vroom sound. So guess what he calls cars now... vvvrrrrrooooommmm. Lol. I love my boy!

Oh yeah, I definitely see the resemblance! haha :) She is too adorable. My nephew's first word was "cook-cook" meaning "cookie" too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Come by anytime! I'll have to play Truthful Tuesdays sometime. Fun idea!
