Playing Along: 5 Question Friday

Posted by: Confessions From A Work-At-Home Mom

I recently found a new blog to follow-- Mama M's "My Little Life". It's a lot of fun, and very interactive... including her weekly "Five Question Friday" feature. So, in the spirit of playing along with my "blogger friends" this week, here goes!

My Little Life

1. What is the one thing that you reach for the most in a day (excluding phones and computers)?

This is easy-- G! These days, she loves to climb into my lap to read a book, and loves walking over to my legs and holding her arms up ("uppy, uppy"!). She was never an overly cuddly baby, so I am thrilled that she is becoming a cuddly toddler!

2. What is the farthest you have been from home?

Hawaii-- but (and this is a big "but"!) that was when I was just 19 months old, so I don't remember anything other than what I've seen in pictures. In more "modern" times, I've been to California, and DH & I are planning on returning to the West Coast for our 5-year wedding anniversary in the spring.

3. What kind of cell phone do you have? Love it or hate it?

DH & I both have new ENV-3 phones. They were a gift for his birthday (which he kindly chose to share with me). For the previous five years, we'd both had the cheapest cell phones money could buy (actually, they were free, so no money needed!). We didn't text or send pictures or even talk on our phones too much. Now that we have these neat phones with all the helpful features, we realize what we were missing!

4. Coke or Pepsi?

Neither. I am a Sprite girl (Sierra Mist, actually, I think it is the most fizzy). And interesting story here-- I didn't drink any soda until I was a sophomore in high school. When I was a toddler, I coincidentally drank my first Coke the same day I got a viral infection. My mom (who hates soda herself) told me I was throwing up because of the soda... and I didn't touch the stuff until I was a teenager and realized my mom had fibbed.

5. If you could go back and change anything about your wedding day, what would it be and why?

Well, I could say I wouldn't change a thing... because in all honesty, I loved my wedding day. It was a wonderful day that went by in the blink of an eye. But, in the spirit of this "game", I'll give a two-pronged answer. Because that day went so fast, I wish I'd have used a videographer to capture more of the memories (I wish the same thing for G's birth). But, in the grander scheme of things, DH & I have both talked over the years about how we kind of wish we'd had a destination wedding instead. Not that we didn't enjoy our wedding, but we had to travel more than 500 miles round trip from our then-home to attend our own wedding... if we were going to spend that much time in a car, we should have gone somewhere more exciting!

That was fun! I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me. If you're a new reader coming over from Mama M's blog, and you like what you see, I encourage you to "follow" me-- I'd like to get to know you, too!

Hey there, first timer!! Glad you joined in! Funny, isn't it, the little white lies we tell our children...and apparently we learn it from our own mothers!! Loved your answers!
